How to Change Background Color in Photoshop

In Photoshop you can easily edit pictures either by capturing them from the camera or choosing from the gallery. You can change the background color in Photoshop as well. If you wish to use different color backgrounds on the back of your picture, then you can do so by following the instructions given below.

Steps for Changing Background Color in a New File

• Go to the “Adobe Photoshop” symbol.

• Tap on the “File” option.

• Press on the “New” button.

• Tap on the “Background Content” option.

• Select the right color for the background.

• Give a title to the file.

• Tap on the “OK” button.

Steps for Changing Background Color in a New File in the Background Layer

• Go to the “Adobe Photoshop” symbol

• Click on the picture you wish to start editing on the screen.

• Tap on the “Windows” heading.

• Press on the “Layers” option.

• Tap on the “Layer” tab.

• Tap on the “New Fill Layer” option.

• Press on the “Solid Color” option.

• Tap on the “Color” button.

• Press on any color which you like add as a background.

• Press on the “OK” button.

• Choose the color as per your wish.

• Tap on the “OK” button.

• Long press on the layers option.

• Drag and drop layer in Photoshop till it is instantly on top of the layer named as “Background” and after that, free the click.

• Press on the Layer option.

• Go down and after that, tap on the “Merge Down” button.

Steps for Changing Background Color in a New File in the Photoshop Workspace

• Tap on the “Adobe Photoshop” symbol.

• Click on the picture you wish to start editing on the Photoshop window.

• In case you are using the Windows PC, then you have to right-click on the Photoshop workspace.

• If you are using the Mac, then you need to control-click on the Photoshop workspace.

• Choose the color to add to the background.

Steps for Changing Background Color in the picture

• Press on the “Adobe Photoshop” symbol.

• Go to the picture which you wish to edit.

• Tap on the “Quick Selection Tool” given on the Photoshop window.

• Move the mouse cursor at the upper side of the foreground picture.

• Tap on the “Refine Edge” option.

• Go through the “Smart Radius.”

• Move the Radius slider from the left to right side.

• On Windows PC, you have to right-click on the background

• On Mac, you have to control-click on the background.

• Press on the “Select Inverse” option.

• Tap on the “Layer” button.

• Press on the “New Fill Layer” option.

• Press on the “Solid Color” button.

• Tap on the “Color” button.

• Press on the color which you wish to add.

• After that, press on the “OK” button.

• You have to decide the color that you wish to add on the background.

• Press on the “OK” button.
